I don’t just build Business Continuity programs—I create the blueprints the world follows.
In 2006, I delivered the first-ever Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery program for US Northern Command and NORAD at Peterson AFB. It didn’t just work, it became the gold standard adopted across the entire U.S. military. Before that, I built Humana’s (Fortune 40) inaugural Business Continuity program from zero and turned their failing DR operation into a bulletproof recovery machine.
I was in the room when Hurricane Andrew rewrote the rules of survival in 1992. What I learned in those rubble-strewn streets directly shaped ISO 22301, influenced the planet’s top consultants, and ignited the evolution from basic BC/DR to true enterprise resiliency long before “resiliency” was a buzzword.
Six times I’ve constructed enterprise-grade BCM/DR programs from absolute scratch. Countless more I’ve stormed in, audited the wreckage, and rebuilt stalled or broken programs into ITIL-topping powerhouses. My plans don’t sit on shelves, they’ve saved organizations during hurricanes, floods, fires, blackouts, high-rise evacuations, and even simulated nationwide HEMP attacks.
Credentials Earned in the Field, Not Just a Classroom
Credentials? I’m currently completing the final requirements to obtain my FBCI (Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute) -the doctoral-level certification- alongside my existing MBCI and CBCI. I’ve built my career by mentoring the next generation and leading real-world continuity and recovery efforts, not just checking boxes.
I’ve stared down death too. At 23 years old and after 23 doctors gave me only months to live, I fought back from a five-year illness and returned stronger than before and never to be sick again. I’ve surfed 45-foot monster waves in many countries and shredded massive hurricane swells in Florida since childhoodnavigating disaster zones before I ever wrote a single recovery plan. I love challenges everyone else runs from.
